Heart Beat Monitors - Ensco Heart Beat Monitor
MicroSearch® – Cargo/Vehicle Inspection for Human Presence
MicroSearch® is a groundbreaking security inspection system that can detect humans hiding in vehicles or containers on carriers by sensing the vibrations caused by the human heartbeat. It is ideal for vehicle and container inspections at correctional facilities, high-value facilities, border crossings, ferry ports and seaports.
The MicroSearch system can determine whether a person is hiding inside a vehicle or container without the time-consuming and expensive task of manually unloading and inspecting a vehicle or an entire container, such as a cargo vessel.
How Does MicroSearch Work?
MicroSearch includes a computer, small sensors and cables. The sensors, similar to those used to gauge earthquakes, measure the tiny movements or vibrations transmitted by the heartbeat to a suspension system, either the vehicle's or the carrier's. Software detection algorithms focus on the specific range of vibrations of the human heart. Based on these vibrations, MicroSearch indicates if a person is present. In seconds, MicroSearch can determine if a manual search is required or if the vehicle or container is free of a stowaway and can pass through the checkpoint.
Features and Benefits
Cost-effective and a Time Saving Inspection Tool
The traditional MicroSearch product has been a mainstay of ENSCO's product line for almost 10 years. The system is deployed at hundreds of locations worldwide, providing cost-savings to customers by decreasing man-hours needed for manual inspections, and providing a time-tested, reliable tool for inspection officers.
The traditional MicroSearch product is designed for benign environments where the level of ground vibrations caused by the surrounding environment and man-made influences do not cause inference with the MicroSearch inspection algorithms.
